Little Red Riding Hood
The Story of Little Red Riding Hood is a traditional Folk Tale told all across Europe, essentially it warns young girls to beware of wolves - and as we all know wolves take a great many forms!
Naturally the story has been published and illustrated many times, the Victorians were especially keen on this and indeed many other moralistic stories.
The Red Riding Hood Story presented here on these pages is an early Victorian version from England, we have carefully transcribed the text and found that no updating was required.
Generally any illustrations would have been wood-cut or chromolithographs, this particular series were wood block prints, the style is quite primative which makes them very charming to our eyes today.
